You may have missed Milborne Port Opera’s sell-out performance of Cole Porter’s “Anything Goes” in 2019, when it harvested a crop of musical theatre awards, but there’s a chance to see an excellent production in Yeovil by the amazing YAOS- Yeovil Amateur Operatic Society.
It is on till Saturday 1st April at the Octagon, and if you rush, you may still get a ticket www.octagon-theatre.co.uk
There’s an excellent review on the Fine Times Recorder theftr.co.uk/anything-goes-yaos-octagon-theatre-yeovil/
This is the last YAOS show before the Octagon closes for a 2-year refurbishment.
Closer to home and a couple of weeks later, MPO are staging “Everything Goes!” in the Milborne Port Village Hall. This dazzling show has nothing whatsoever to do with “Anything Goes”, but is a backstage musical celebrating 100 years of musical theatre with a number of hit musical numbers performed by MPO’s talented singers and dancers.
Tickets are selling fast, with the opening night (Wednesday 12 April) and the Friday (14 April) perfmances very busy, but with some capacity on the other nights (Thursday 13 and Saturday 15 April). Performances start at 7.30. Book at www.mpopera.co.uk
