The Blog sends greetings to Andy and Justine at the White Horse, South Cheriton, who celbrate 3 years at this excellent local pub.
With pubs closing all around us (The Old Inn at Holton was the latest to go), the “White” remains an oasis of good beer, wine and food for anyone wanting a good night our locally.
They have invested massively in a new kitchen and refurbished the old skittle alley into a dining and performance area. They kept open during the lockdown, at considerable personal cost.
The pub opens duringthe day from Thursday to Sunday, and in the evening from Wednesday to Sunday.
Food is served at lunchtime on Thursday, Friday and Sunday and on Wednesday to Saturday evenings (6-8.30)pm. Sunday lunch is available from 12-3. Thursday is burger night.
There is a popular quiz on the second Sunday of every month. The next one is this Sunday , 9 October. Teams of up to 5, £1 a head, and the winning team takes the pot.
