It has been very quiet on the election front in Horsington. No sign of the candidates, and very few posters around. In Wincanton the feathers are beginning to fly over the issue of parking charges, and it is very difficult to discover what is really going on. More from the Wincanton Window.
You will all have noticed your editor’s comment on the apparent absence of “visible” candidates for the upcoming district election (not to mention the AV referendum). Just a quick note to say that as a candidate for that election I too have been disappointed at missing the opportunity to have some political banter with any other candidates who do seem somewhat quiet.
I and my colleagues have posted our election address through 95% of Horsington’s post boxes and have knocked on probably 80% of your front doors. In fact one resident deep in the Marsh complimented us by saying he hadn’t seem anyone in this light for years.
May I also say thanks to all of you who gave me your time and for listening to me politely on the door step, its good to hear of the issues, the Grange among them. On that subject please be assured that the planning officers are keeping me closely informed and be assured that after careful preparation the right steps will shortly be taken.
My regards to you all,
Tim Inglefield
