Wanted – Parish Clerk for Horsington

David Chapman, clerk to the parish council, is stepping down after nearly 10 loyal and honourable  years in the job. An advertisement has appeared on the Village Hall website for his replacement.

No salary is mentioned, but totting up the quarterly sums in the parish council minutes indicates that negotiations would start around at around £1,600 a year for 15 hours work per month.

The advertisement states:

As Parish Clerk you will be required to attend and take the minutes of the monthly Parish Council Meetings. Other duties include production and circulation of monthly agendas and minutes, dealing with all correspondence and keeping the accounts up to date and submitting them for the annual audit. Applicants will need to be PC literate. Previous accounts experience would be an advantage. Please apply, enclosing a CV to horsingtonpc@gmail.com or call 01963 370713.
