{"id":748,"date":"2011-06-30T14:13:01","date_gmt":"2011-06-30T14:13:01","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/horsington.blog2.idnet.com\/?p=748"},"modified":"2011-09-26T11:26:50","modified_gmt":"2011-09-26T11:26:50","slug":"748","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/horsington.blog2.idnet.com\/?p=748","title":{"rendered":"&#8220;Oliver&#8221; will wow them in Shaftesbury"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Horsington&#8217;s\u00a0Chris Bailward has jumped ship from <em>HMS Pinafore<\/em> to appear as Mr Bumble\u00a0 in Shaftesbury Arts Centre\u2019s production of Lionel Bart\u2019s musical <em>Oliver, <\/em>which\u00a0opens on July 6<sup>th<\/sup>.<\/p>\n<p>First staged in 1960, the original <em>Oliver<\/em> (based on Dickens\u2019 Oliver Twist) ran for 2610 performances, and launched the careers of many young actors, including Tony Robinson of Baldrick and Time Team fame. It had to wait another 17 years for a revival, and is now a fashionable choice for many amateur performances.<\/p>\n<p>The Shaftesbury summer shows are very\u00a0accomplished and popular, and booking is advised.<\/p>\n<p>Box Office<br \/>\n01747 854321\u00a0 <a href=\"http:\/\/www.shaftesburyartscentre.org.uk\/item\/oliver.html\" target=\"_blank\">Or book on line <\/a><\/p>\n<p>The Show runs from July 6 -9 and July 13-16 at 7.30 pm.
