Hauser & Wirth \u00a0at Bruton are staging their Somerset \u201cSound of Silent\u201d festival, to celebrate 100 years of music and movies.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The festival kicks off next Friday 12 May\u00a0at 6.30 pm with a screening of Eisenstein\u2019s \u00a0masterpiece \u00a0\u201cBattleship Potemkin\u201d on a big screen with a live accompaniment of original music. This a rare chance to see this very famous Russian film from the Soviet era.<\/p>\n

Horsington resident Penny Nagle\u2019s<\/strong> new company Where West Begins<\/strong> is behind the other screenings in the festival, which runs from the 12- 14 May. \u00a0As you can see, many of these screening are particularly suited to young people, particularly those who want to learn about how films are made.<\/p>\n

\u201c<\/strong>Singin\u2019 in the Rain<\/strong>\u201d –\u00a0Sunday 14 May at 11am – “<\/strong>the greatest musical of all time<\/em>\u201d +\u00a0Professor Millie Taylor\u00a0<\/strong>talking why it\u2019s so great. Millie Taylor is Professor of Musical Theatre at Winchester University and author of several books on the subject including \u201cMusical Theatre, Realism and Entertainment\u201d.
