It will sell a large variety of fabulous home-made gelatos, sorbets, and coffees, accompanied by very cool music from a state of the art music system. A powerful free wi-fi will make it an ideal place to relax, browse and catch up before or after shopping, or after school.<\/p>\n<p>Ecco Gelato will be open from 11 am until 10 pm every day.<\/p>\n<p>Ecco Gelato has been a team effort for several Horsington residents.<br \/>\nPhil Warren and his boys did the building and fitting out; George Matthews provided the identity and signwriting, Brenda Boyce did the upholstery, Kelly Chmielewski, Charley Walker and Lauren Burpitt from the Half Moon have joined the staff, \u00a0Richard Gaunt did the PR and promotion, and Tjden Lane took the photographs.<\/p>\n<p>Philippa Tarling put herself through an intensive course at the Gelato University in Bologna, Italy, to learn the complexities of the art of making high quality gelato.<\/p>\n<p>What is gelato exactly? Gelato is a high quality milk based \u201cice-cream\u201d that is made and sold fresh. It is not actually ice-cream and an artisan Gelatiere would be insulted if their product was labelled as such. Gelato is made from milk, and is softer, contains less fat and air , is denser, and has a warmer feel as it is served at minus 10- 12 Centigrade.<\/p>\n<p>All the varieties on sale at Ecco Gelato will contain locally-sourced milk and fresh fruits from local markets when in season. The products on offer will vary according to season and availability but will include gelato, sorbettas (made from fruit) 5 coffees, mocca, hot chocolate and tea. Everything will be freshly made on the premises.<\/p>\n<p>Philippa is in charge of production.
